“I was so happy that the weather was getting warmer and that Spring was here. As most of us can relate; 2020 was a difficult year and quarantine just made my family and I experience cabin fever. Therefore, once the Spring of 2021 dawned on us, we began making travel plans to visit family members and friends that we had not seen in a while and even attend the functions that we were already invited to. This new year seemed like everything was turning over a new leaf.
As the days got closer to finally leave the house and attend social gatherings, the more excited I got. During this particular weekend, I attended one of my family members’ wedding and I finally got a chance to meet with my extended family members and friends. I felt so relieved. We were able to catch up and update each other on current events in our lives, we laughed, shared a meal and even danced just like the old times; before the pandemic.

A few weeks after the wedding I had attended, I found out that I was COVID- 19 Positive. This was very scary and I could only sit and wonder how I got it. However, anyone can get COVID-19 and we need to stay safe. Since, I actively lived with my grandparents under the same roof, I had spread the virus to my grandmother. It was super devastating as I saw her struggle with it, as I was getting better on my end. A few weeks later, she passed away and it took me a while to process the sudden change of events. It was such a devastating moment for our family. If only I knew about the importance of the COVID-19 Vaccine, I would have protected myself and my family; my grandmother included. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Therefore, I urge you all to take the COVID-19 Vaccine and as a result we shall protect our families and friends from the Corona Virus Disease.”

“I work at a Grocery Store and the most important task for me is to always be safe for both my family at home and at work. Once, the COVID-19 Vaccine availability was announced for essential workers, I immediately felt the need to go and get vaccinated. The vaccination has been a great preventative method for spreading the Corona Virus, and I am glad to resume the social activities around me.”

“During the past year I contracted COVID-19, and I experienced severe symptoms such as, coughing, fever, chills and a headache. This particular experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I wished to stay safe by wearing a mask and keeping 6 feet social distance, so as to also protect my wife who is expecting our fourth child. Therefore, I am looking forward to get the COVID-19 Vaccine. Even though I contracted COVID-19, I still need to get my vaccine.”
